Collective Housing Protected Housing
COLLECTIVE HOUSING PROTECTED HOUSING, is a summary through 37 examples, historical, present and future, of publicly promoted housing built in Galicia, presenting the general floor plans, apartment type floor plans and scale sections, surfaces and percentages of use and occupancy, photographs of the interior and exterior, location, construction details, and list of the architects responsible for its design.
This book is also a brief approach to the effort and complexity that creating protected housing entailed and entails, a recognition of those who, understanding housing as a good for social use, tried to facilitate its access to the entire population, a pause to ask ourselves what we are like and what inheritances we receive; a quick reflection on many of the reasons that transformed our way of living; a call to attention about the need for housing for people with fewer resources, a criticism of the errors that have not yet allowed a solution to access to housing for all; an assessment of the built city, the territory, and its relationship with housing, an introduction to the transformations of collective housing for social use, an assessment of collective grouping in residence as a mechanism that best organizes the collective habitat in relation to the city.
